Photoblog

If a picture is worth a thousand words, this will be a long one! But I figured out that it's way easier to just post some pictures from our weekend up north than to write all about it and try to tell you about all the people!

You know what Tom and I look like, so you should be able to pick us out of the crowd. And I'll identify Dr. Vet-Friend Two ('cause she won't mind), which means you'll be able to tell which one is her husband. I'll let the other two couples remain anonymous, since I don't have their specific permission to throw them all over my blog.

To summarize... We got there around 2 PM on Friday and didn't go do anything exciting or adventurous because it was windy. There had been some talk of canoing, but my idea of the best way to enjoy a canoe would be sitting in it on the beach with a drink. On Saturday morning, everyone else went golfing, and I stayed in the villa watching TV, drinking coffee, and sitting on the deck. (I admit, I watched a lot of coverage, including "A Special Edition of the Today Show," of the sudden and tragic passing of Tim Russert.) Then Tom came and picked me up to meet everyone for lunch, followed by the party returning to the villa for naps. Things ran late both nights, but Tom (ever my protector) made sure he got me safely down the stairs and tucked in before I did anything too embarrassing. Considering how relaxed and uninhibited everyone else was, I'd have had to do something really bizarre (even for me!) to stand out, but better safe than sorry! Dr. Vet-Friend made sure I knew right away that she hadn't brought any suture material so I'd better remain injury-free!

(In the pictures above, the friend in the yellow shirt isn't in the first one, and Tom isn't in the second one, but between the two pictures, everyone is represented! That's Dr. Vet-Friend third from the right.)

(Cute, no?)

(Just like the Vet-Friend picture... can you see the rainbow?)

(One villa shouldn't be able to hold so many adorable couples!)

Definitely a fun weekend! I was somewhat concerned, being such a hermit by nature, but everyone was great. For some reason, I ended up feeling like I'd known the other "Rainbow couple" for a really long time. I don't know why. Though I'd met them both briefly a time or two, once we got up to Giant's Ridge, it almost felt like I was hanging out with people we knew in school or something.

And now, it's back to reality. Back to work, dogs, housework... and blogging.

BUT... Three Days Till Ragweed!!!!!!!

Normally, I'm stressing for days before a concert. I was disappointed that we won't get a meet and greet at this venue, and that it's "seating" as opposed to "Lori standing against the stage and definitely not acting her age," but in a way it's taken some of the anxiety out of it. All I have to do is show up and enjoy the show. It's been almost a year since we've seen the guys in person, so I know it will be a great time.

That's it. Signing off for now!
